Dealerships in ohio were saying this was a rare color was wondering how many they actually made of the inferno. They told me that you could order only white or black now. I bought a crew max trd pro inferno and wondering if it actually was rare or not.

Good question, anyone have any real data?

Toyota dealers are notorius to only tell you about what they have and will stare into the headlights if you ask about getting anything they don't have right there in sight.

Approximately 3,500 Tundra TRD Pro Series vehicles will be produced. Over 3,000 4Runner TRD Pro Series vehicles will be produced. Over 1,000 Tacoma TRD Pro Series vehicles will be produced. Availability will be limited, so please contact your local*Toyota dealership*if you are interested in stepping up and becoming a pro!

Well the pro only comes in 3 colors. I would say there would be more inferno pros than anything.

Yeah 2 dealerships around me wouldnt come down from sticker saying it was a rare color. 1 just sold one. and called me back saying they could order one for me but only in white or black. Finally a dealership in Cleveland had one and came down 3k from sticker.

Sounds like a poll is needed, if there is not one already.

there was another thread titled "TRD Pro in 2016" that member stated that:
There will be a TRD Pro 2016, They won't offer inferno any more but will replace it with a Sandstorm Color.

Pics don't do inferno any justice. The ones I've seen in person were amazing.

Inferno also wasn't available for the full production run either. It was something like one month on and two months off for Inferno production. Off months extra black and white were added to meet production demands. Don't have exact production numbers but I'll see if I can get them.

Wonder if we have seen PROs and just did not recognize as they were pre color colors?

Its funny what dealers in different parts of the country say. Down here in Oklahoma(Gulf States Toyota) I was told they were only getting Crew Max Inferno's(but I see a black one on cars.com in GST right now). I've seen Inferno's around town a time or two, and ran into a dude in a Black CM, but he had Pennsylvania plates on his truck.

My suggestion if you're really wanting one in Inferno is to jump out to Cars.com (or similar) and track one down. I did the deal for my truck completely over the phone, bought an airplane ticket on Frequent Fly points, cost me $18 total (would have only been a couple hundred bucks if I didn't have the points). Dealer picked me up at the airport and an hour later I was on the road.

Even with the costs associated with flying out and a 1000 mile drive home I still saved a significant amount of money compared to what my local dealers were willing to do.... Hell I think they thought they found a unicorn or something, they were NOT going to budge on the price!

+1000 to what @Garand just said.

I'm in the LA area, all 4 dealers that had an Inferno wanted 5k over MSRP...., one dealer even told me Toyota told them they have to sell it at that marked up price

I used Cars.com, located a truck in Santa Rosa, completed the transaction via phone & email.

A good friend of mine got me a "great" transport deal, for $500 the truck was transported, delivered & parked on my driveway with 3 miles on the odometer.

btw, I paid $2k below MSRP.

Moral of the story: do not wait for your local dealer. Find a truck & go get it..

Rule #1 : Dealers are full of shit (Yes all of them)

Rule #2 : Anything can be found and bought, just takes times, patience and $$$.

I've seen two black Pro's in KC and I physically drove an Inferno Red CM. So there's 3 in KC. All CM's.
